Rules for Club
Points
2009 - 2010 Speedway
Season
(Last Updated
01/02/09)
1.
Points
for all classes will be calculated in the same manner, and will be awarded in
the following way:
2.
Points
will be awarded for each race, 26 points for the winner, down to 1 point for
26th place. (If there are more than 26 competitors, 27th place downwards will
also receive 1 point?) All starters are
therefore guaranteed 1 point per race.
3.
In
order to qualify for more than one point, a competitor must complete 80% of the
race laps.
4.
A "DNF" will only score the 1 point for starting the
race, no matter how many laps completed.
5.
The
number of required laps is rounded down if not a whole number. eg. 80% of 12 lap’s equal 9.6 laps, so competitors must
complete at least 9 laps to qualify for more than 1 point.
6.
Points
will be awarded in this manner, even when races have been handicapped.
Therefore, points will be awarded to classes where they are also competing in
internal competitions such as the La-Z-Boy series, or the Husqvarna series.
7.
Points
will not be awarded for classes competing in national title meetings: ie; NZ
Title,
8.
If
a driver is away competing at a national title meeting, ie; NZ Title, North
Island, or Grand Prix event, the driver will receive 26 points (in total) for
the home meeting they miss. (For Stock Car Teams Champs, this applies for the
NZ Title only.)
9.
Points
will be awarded based upon the "official placings" posted on the
night!! It is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure that any protests
/ queries are lodged and resolved within the specified timeframe after each
race.
10.
Visiting
drivers will be awarded points for their placings, but these will obviously not
count towards the end of year prize giving.
11.
Points
will be collated for, and monitored by the Committee.
12.
Club
Points, with the exception of those for Ministock, will be published in the
newsletter, and posted on the new club website. www.bopspeedway.co.nz
13.
No
Transponder = No Result = No Points………… No Argument and No Exceptions!!!
14.
BAYPARK SPEEDWAY is
NOT involved in any way with the awarding of points, nor are they interested. Do not approach them with any of your queries
relating to points. There should be none anyway, as you will have dealt with
any issues on the night, through the right channels.
